Homemade Beef Burgers with Caramelised Onions and Potato Wedges
Serves 4 20 min prep 35 min cook

Juicy homemade beef burgers topped with sweet caramelised onions and cheese, served with crispy oven-baked potato wedges.
Ingredients
- 600 g beef mince
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 burger rolls
- 800 g potatoes, cut into wedges
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- lettuce and tomato for serving
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Toss the potato wedges with olive oil, salt and pepper and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until crisp.
- Combine the mince with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Shape into four burger patties.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and gently cook the onions until soft.
- Add the brown sugar and continue cooking until the onions are golden and caramelised.
- Cook the burger patties in a hot pan or on a griddle for about 4 to 5 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking.
- Top each patty with cheese and allow it to melt.
- Toast the burger rolls lightly.
- Assemble with lettuce, tomato, beef patties and caramelised onions and serve with the wedges.
